Ansbach, Germany 2009

I had my first exchange in Germany at the age of twelve and learned many lessons in relation to tolerance and cultural diversity. During two weeks I lived with the family Gramsamer in Ansbach, South Germany. The trip was organized by the Colegio Aleman in Cali, and,as a preparation, I took German classes during several months.

It was a wonderful experience because I experienced going out alone to take the bus, walking and biking outside, feeling safe.Visiting Germany showed me that the world was large and that I wanted to know different cultures. There, I understood that every nation has its problems, but that together we can find a solution to many issues. At the end, I arrived with the impression that Colombians and Germans had many things in common despite the differences.
